The so called mother of Maddy has made a statement concerning them leaving the children alone whilst they, the parents went to the local pub.
She said.... wait for it..... " At worst we were Naive"...
Well now, this is an educated woman and she thinks the WORST that can be said is that they were naive???
I suggest the following words would maybe be more appropriate:
Criminally Negligent
Stupid
Insane
Self-Interested
Callous
Profoundly uncaring
Useless
Normally if someone is negligent to an extreme and this contributes (not necessarily directly causes) a death then they may be charged with Manslaughter.
I forgot 'Arrogant'
The word naïve does not immediately spring to mind … I wonder why she used it?
If in doubt try this question:
Faced with the chance to go out and have a fine time in the pub, whilst on holiday in a strange land would you?
A: Leave your 3 babies alone in an unlocked room
B: Use one of the babysitters provided by the complex
C: Use the crèche provided by the complex
D: Take the children with you
E: Stay in and protect the Children with a bottle of wine (maybe)

Releasing balloons in every continent.
50 white doves in California.
50 kites flying in Afghanistan.
A CD on the way.
To be honest, if I was Maddy I wouldn't give a flying pigs' ****.
Because NONE OF THIS IS GOING TO HELP FIND HER!!!!!

It's bizarre isn't it??? They vowed not to leave Portugal until she was found but then go on a media 'tour' including seeing the Pope. Then talked about meeting the Pope was dual sided and afterwards they were 'reminded'' she was still missing. Doesn't it seem like they are enjoying the attention? How on earth would you have to be reminded about the reason why you were visiting the Pope was your daughter is missing. Everyone knows about their daughter they didn't need a 'media tour'... I don't think going on a media tour is going to find her.
But then again I would never have left my children alone like that in the first place. I really can NOT imagine doing that! From the beginning something has not felt right, their reactions from the beginning just didn't feel right.
God forbid if it was me I would be reminding people about her from Portugal and I would also remind the press about all the missing children in the world. I would also still be crying and frantic and you just don't get a frantic vibe from them not even in the beginning. I would have to be sedated if it was one of my children and then I would have my other two children tethered to me after this experience I would be SO scared something would happen to them. But again that is NOT the case.
It's like they are trying to get celebrity status through sympathy status and raising so much money it's like they are trying to feed all the children in Africa.... This big focus on money and now this CD just doesn't seem right. Their website is all about the money.
I just pray for the little girl, the whole thing is just sad. There are missing children everywhere and it should be brought up without this circus they have created.

Just a thought: if Maddy really has been kidnapped, would all this publicity not scare the kidnapper into killing her and dumping the body? I am all for publicity in cases like this so people recognise Maddy but there is a point when it becomes counter productive.
Also, I would feel far happier about the McCanns if they used their trips, fund, etc. to highlight the plight of ALL missing children and help other parents who might be too distraught to do anything...

I am still waiting for them to hire private detectives. There are some very good ones, who operate internationally. It's a bit late for that now, because the trail (if there ever was one) will have gone cold.
They can't keep raising money for ever because the public will eventually accept the fact that Madeleine is probably dead , poor little girl, so further fund raising will not produce many donations.

This has been out of hand from almost day one. Its bizarre, how much "awareness" do they possibly need?
There are millions of blond 4 year old girls in the world, so potentially every one will have to be checked. I saw a blonde girl of approximate age in Pottstown Pennsylvania yesterday - must be Maddie! Seriously, Its madness now, the cost to the various Police forces will be huge, diverting funds from other areas of crime investigation. Of course bona fide evidence and credible witnesses must be investigated, but there must be SOME commonsense involved, surely??

This is turning into a media circus now. why would u wanna mark the 50 day anniversary of ur daughters disappearance. why aint they over in Malta searching high and low. I think this is a bad case of neglect and i feel they will get away with it. It is not gonna set a good example. I hope maddie is found safe and well but if she is found alive and returned to this wont they just do it again? I surely hope this has taught them to look after their children. Its a shame something like this has to happen to teach them what is actaully common sense

It wouldn't be so bad if it was a campaign in aid of every missing child, but sthey seem to be missing the point here, balloons are not going to find her, not even kites, money being wasted it could go to better uses and other childrens charitues.

The thing is, all of the media exposure they have is in no way helping to find Madeleine. They seem more concerned with turning the parents into celebrities.
