Due to speeding and non payment of fines. They told him he would become licensed again in 3 months. He seems to think he will be able to get a new license in NYC. I told him no. What do you think. He has not gone to the motor vehicle office yet.
Thank you

The states of Virginia and New York share drivers license information. If his license was suspended in Virginia, he will not be able to get a license in New York until after the suspension period.

No matter where you go in the USA, if your license was suspended and you move, it'll come up in the system once they have your name and Social Security number. They can find out about it very easily. I was just interviewed 2 weeks ago at our local licensing place and was told how it works. Don't think you can get away with it. Good Luck!

I've got good news and bad news First the bad....no he won't be able to get his license until he clears up his mess in VA....the good news....NYC has a great transit system and he won't really need a car.

How old is he? If young enough, just apply like its his first time. If not, just don't mention it. If they do find out and say something, say its in "appeal". That putsit in doubt. Meanwhile, get insured and drive carefuly so you don't get caught. You'll be alright.
