No, they didn't surrendur.

The bombing of such a beautiful city was horrific, but then so was the whole war.

The strategic reasons for the bombing of cities in Eastern Germany like Dresden was to interdict the logistics of the Nazi war machine to prevent movement of troops to the Eastern Front (analysts considered the Nazis could mover more than 40 divisions to the Eastern Front).

The war only came to an end shortly after Hitlers death, following the Russian assault on Berlin, and the shelling of the Chancellory when his successor, Admiral Doenitz finally accepted that there was no war left to be made.

Y E S, May 8 1945 was noted as VE DAY and that
was when all German Military Forces Surrendered!
BTW, The RAF(ROYAL AIR FORCE from Great Britain) began the bombing of Dresden from
February 12 to February 13, 1945 followed by the USAAF(United States Army Air Force) on the rail yards of Dresden February 14 to 15, 1945!!! This is to set the record straight that the United States of America was not alone in fighting in Europe!!

The Allies bombed Dresden. Yes, Germany surrendered after the bombing. If they surrendered before the bombing....

As WWII was nearing an end, German soldiers retreated all the way to Berlin, hoping to surrender to less vengeful Allied Forces rather than the Soviets, as Soviet forces had been brutalized by the Germans in the war and Germans were afraid of reciprocal treatment. Remember an estimated 20 Million Soviet soldiers and civilians died from battle, disease or starvation during the seige of the "Western Front" in the west Soviet Union.

As the Sovs pushed through Germany to the outskirts of Berlin, the call for the Nazis to surrender went out, Hitler (allegedly) killed himself in his bunker, no one was leading German forces and they raised the white flag, rather than be slaughtered by vengeful Soviets.

The US's role was more in the Pacific after Italy and Germany surrendered, the Japanese continued to wage war on the Allies, prompting Harry Truman to order two atomic bombs to be dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, resulting in the almost immediate surrender of Japanese forces in the Pacific Theater.

Obviously not. Well maybe not obviously... this article is vague. has anyone got more? This article claims that the Nazis used it as a propaganda tool. Which I assume means that it did not lead to their surrender.
