I think your right to protest is an expression of your federal right to free speech. Local law is not involved.

One bit of advice: you are okay on a public sidewalk, however, do not do any of the following:

(1) Do not enter private land to protest.

(2) Do not impede the traffic of pedestrians on the sidewalk.

I suppose looking up local rules and regs. on that information highway box in front of you did't cross your mind.
