Does anyone have any specific instructions on how to overclock my CPU & GPU? Or a URL that has instructions on how to do so?

Overclocking is the best thing since sliced bread. Why pay $400 for a chip when a $100 model will clock higher with a little bit of planning and tinkering?

If you don't bump the voltage much (or at all) you will never hurt the CPU while overclocking. Always monitor the temps.

The motherboard is as important for overclocking as the right CPU is. Why do you think you see those $200 boards out there with huge copper heat pipes/sinks and endless BIOS options?

The RAM can also play an important role depending on the CPU and motherboard mix.

For recommendations on the best parts you'll need to join an overclockers forum and website.

Just google your models and type "overclocking" with it, without the quotes of course.

gpu overclocking will damage you graphics with out the proper safety measure in place i e watercooling real not a h2o pump thing. Mild overclocking can be done with a big air cooler. software that is best is the software that is provided be the mainboard manufacturer. If this is not provided the best way to do that is thru the bois because most mainboards unless you get the full setup as they recommend i.e. memory of their choosing and processor you cannot do it thru software without knowing the bois setting anyway. So just set in the bois. because that easy as 4 steps method could shut the computer down. And if you don't have a default bois onboard it could be very hard to get the thing turned on. This is because some software will step everything up at once. And the memory is so sensitive that it requires manual manipulation.

Well you know..... It'd help if we knew what your cpu and gpu were.

For ATI GPU's use RAGE3d

for Nvidia cards do the "coolbits" registry mod to gain access to the complete nvidia control panel.

For the cpu. you do that from the bios screen.

Like the guy above. I take no responsiblity for you permantly damaging you computer. Remember when you overclock a cpu gpu ram or Chipset. it may look like its running fine.... But it could be corrupting the bios or slowing frying out a transistor. It is dangerous and I would recommend buying a 100$ junk computer to learn about overclocking.

YES! Try these:

For GPU, here's a popular one:

Works for ATI and many Nvidia cards.
