How about Frank Sinatra's song, " I did it my way" (not sure that's the real title).

or how about the poem Invictus with the ending line:

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Those were Timothy McVeighs last words before he was executed.

these are two of my favorites:
1-the Slow Rock one:
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica

"
...Never opened myself this way,
Life is ours we live it our way,
all these words i don't just say,
and Nothing else matters..."

"...Never cared for what the say,
never cared for games they play,
never cared for what they do,
never cared for what they know,
but I Know..." (this part is really cool! )

2-The Hard Rock one:
It's My Life - Bon Jovi (especially the music video version would do!)

"this ain't a song for the broken-hearted,
No silent prayer fot the faith-departed,
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd,
you're gonna hear my voice when i shout it out loud:

It's my life
and it's now or never
i ain't gonna live forever
i just want to live while i'm alive...
my heart is like an open highway
like Frankie said "i did it my way"
i just wanna live while i'm alive
It's my life...

"

Not caring what people think? Or not caring that you step all over other people just to do what you want to do and to heck with them?
There is a difference.

Human interactions can be hell, or they can be a great spiritual practice! I have always believed it was none of my business what other people thought of me. Besides, are you going to let some other's opinion of you matter more than your own? Their opinion can only matter to you if you agree with it, so don't.

True Happiness happens whenever we are not judging anything.

Any time that you are not judging you are happy.

The moment that you start judging, you find something to be unhappy about.

It really is that simple.

not a poem just a statement
