Should you want to market your new website on the Net, the following discussion may prove helpful. Again, 85% of Net surfers use major search engines to find goods and services and if your new website is not SEO optimized, your website will never attract visitors or traffic: it will be a truly invisible unmarketable website.
You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.
Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one's goods and services.
And the very last category - "Keywords" are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature.
Here's a demonstration of an actual FIRST PAGE placement on Google's search engine with the submission of very "generic" set of key word queries:
1. Go to Google's search engine.
2. At the search entry, type in the words "ecommerce tutorials seo" [and of course, leave out the quotes ["]
3. Hit "Enter."
4. There will appear some 1.67 MILLION search results.
5. Check out the No. 2 search entry "Welcome to Downtown L.A." which currently uses the above-referenced algorithms to achieve their FIRST PAGE position.
Good luck!

Haven't looked at your site, obviously, but I just have looked at a number of other supposed 'show' sites done with the software and, well, says it all. The underlying code is atrocious! For search engine bots MrSite is the human equivalent of trying to navigate a maze - ankle deep in mud - on a foggy day.
The accepted time to get indexed is about 2 month, but if you factor in the fact your code it messing with their endevours, well, don't hold your breath!
Can't offer any real advice without knowing your line of business. Also, many "professional" web developers are crap. Best way to tell is look at their own sites, ranking (Google and Alexa) and, if you can understand it, the code.
Any designer that needs third party software generally isn't that good. Dreamweaver has it's permits (but still isn't up to my standards), Frontpage is an utter joke (never trust a 'developer' that uses Frontpage!) and rest, meh!
Ask and I'll see what else I can suggest

Google has gotten pickier in recent months. A year ago my site was listed, but in January it wasn't there at all. (If you do a Google search for your web address (http://www.yoursite.com) and it says "not found", it means that it's not in their index. If you don't have other sites linking to yours, it won't rank in Google.)
Actually, I just did that and Google again knows I exist. This is 4-5 months after I resubmitted it. They work slowly, it seems. (One or two months after I submitted, I wasn't there either.)
So what you do is submit it, and get friends and whoever else to put links to your site on theirs. The more links the better. You can add links to their sites to yours, to return the favor.
Then, once they know you're there, you have to optimize your site so someone looking for whatever is on your site will find it in the category. Make sure your name (or you company's name) is mentioned in the text and title, and what the company does is in the text, title, and meta tags.
A couple years ago I did a site for a realtor in Tucson AZ. He wanted to call himself a "property professional" in the website, and his ranking was horrible (like number 150 on a search for "Tucson Real Estate Agents"). I rewrote the text and meta tags to include "Realtor" and "Real Estate Agent", and added "Real Estate Agent" to the title, and he made it into the top 10. (Though being online for another year and getting a couple more links to his site probably helped, too. Remember, it takes a while for sites to creep up the rankings, no matter how well they're optimized.)

Hello,
Web design is a huge field, and as you say normally covered by pro's. If you supply a link to your site a pro could give their opinion or views. Search engines can take months to list a site but generally the better the site the faster the listing. Your site may not be search engine friendly and a review may be needed.

The more times that someone accesses You via UR website address, the more it shows up. I had hoped that you would of left a link for me to check out.
Whatever places that you have registered like @ various forums for instance, the more your name, or user name shows up via the Internet, the more it is seen.
The words expressed @ UR business site, are key words, that may pop up as people search out these key words. So, be sure to apply key words that would trigger a response.
At forums, you can apply UR website address to UR profile. People may access your profile, if they want to know more about you & what you do, & what website you may have. So, while @ 4ums as I call it, always treat people with kindness: It helps to promote who you are in connection with UR business.
Some 4ums allow you to apply a business banner in UR signature line, which helps people to get to know you better by UR business & helps to get the word out. Always be sure to know of the rules, for some sites do not allow this kind of advertisement.
You might want to advertise UR site, there are various places on the Internet in which to do this sort of thing. Some places, you can advertise for free, while there are other sites where it will cost you some money to advertise.
These are just a few ways in which you can get the word out about UR site.
I'm sure there are many unique ways in which you can do this to improve UR business.
Keep On Trucking_There is sure to be some good advice & probably something better then mine. But for now this should help.
