Better ask this question directly to Sachin. If you want me to answer this question, I would say he should not have played WC 2007. The next WC in 2011 is being held in the sub-continent and if Sharad Pawar continues to be BCCI President and Vengsarkar continues as the Selectors' Chairman till 2011, Sachin may as well play WC2011; who knows?
