if the connection is always on (DSL, Cable, Satellite) you don't need to do anything. If its dial-up or requires a log in id and password then go to control panel and click on Internet options then go to the connections tab and enter the info from your isp.

If you got internet connection on your PC or laptop, then it is automatic that your Internet Explorer will detect it and you will be able to browse the web.

sometimes when you click the internet explorer icon the e it opens a pop up asking you what kind of connection you have and etc just click on the one that applies to you.

if your connections is ok it should work normally by double click internet exeplorer..but if its not ok then you have setup wizard for your connection..goto my network places on your desktop then setup a home or a small office network and follow the rest of the setup
