Solution #1: Open Taskbar> Control Panel> Power Options > Under Battery Meter Select Power Saver instead of Balanced or High Performance> Click OK> Then charge the battery to 100% and see if your laptop works if not try solution 2

Solution #2: Open Taskbar> Control Panel> Mobile PC > Change Battery Settings> Batter Meter> Select the "Battery Health" Tab and if the Text running in the center of the window doesn't say something along the lines of "Your battery is running normally." You should consider changing your battery or try installing a secondary batter. (Most stores that sell computers can help you install new batteries or install secondary batteries)

most laptops have a bios utility to "learn" the battery status. You could try that first, but most likely, if the battery is more than 2 years old, it is not keeping or taking a charge anymore.....you could replace the battery....or get an external battery pack (both can be expensive, but its cheaper than replacing the laptop). If the laptop runs when plugged into the power adapter, then the battery is definitely dead....if it still stays at 3 percent then the power supply may be bad or the bios is not reading the battery correctly.

as long as you have the right potential twine for it you would be fantastic for an prolonged time. I basically use my battery on uncommon activities and that i even have an HP Pavilion DV6 i individually hate the colour of it yet i myself think of the touchpad is with regard to the worst layout EVER made for a pc . I even wrote HP aand advised them it sucks.
