It's difficult to say. I read King when I was your age but it's different from person to person.
I think "The Dark Tower" books are ok. They are not horror stories as such even though they contain some pretty scary scenes.
I would say that the first three "The Dark Tower" books are ok, and by then you might be so caught up in the story that you won't be scared only excited.
If you want to read something that isn't too scary I recommend "The Shawshank Redemption", "The Body", and "The Green Mile".

The Dark Tower series would be fine for you to read. It's a fantasy tale much akin to the Lord of the Rings but a little bit darker. There are other King novels you can read like - The Talisman - a Tale about a boy who can zip in and out of worlds in an effort to save his Mom. The Stand - a tale about Good versus Evil. Another fantasy tale - Eyes of the Dragon. Christine - A car comes to life to haunt its owner. There really isn't a "Scary" novel in the Dark tower books. By the way there is prelude to the Gunslinger call " THE LITTLE SISTERS OF ELURIA " and if you can find it it begins before the Gunslinger and sets the tale.
I think that all of King's works are okay for you to read as long as you remember its all fiction and has no basis in reality. Enjoy.

I don't think the Dark Tower series is as scary as some of his books. He has written plenty of books that wouldn't freak you out too badly. Just read the descriptions of some that you might be thinking of and that should give you an idea of whether you can handle it or not.

It's a common misconception that everything Stephen King writes is intended to be scary. The Dark Tower series is fantasy, and is no more scary than Lord of the Rings. However, like everything else he writes, it is very adult.

I dont think so, i have read them all, my 14 year old son and I listened to them on audio book together. And neither of felt they were scary. One of the books , Wolves of the Calla , has some strong content as far as death and dark things like that. But none have anything real scary like wicked killing monsters that will eat you in your sleep, or anything like that. I I suggest listening to audio book with your parents ,maybe that will ease their minds a bit.

Read what you want. I think that it will be fine. You have to try one to find out if it is too scary or not. Give it a try and find out.

I don't think they are scary, but you know how easily you get scared. I was reading RL Stine books when i was several years younger than you. Each one of us has our own "scare tolerance"

It depends what sort of thing scares you, but I've heard of them and they sound terrifying. I would recommend that if you do read them read them way before you go to bed. But at your age you should probably wait a bit longer.
