My mom told me that Medium was going to be cancelled next year. Is that true?

no it was just renewed.

I doubt that the show has been cancelled. It seems to be pretty popular, aned had a short season only because Patridia Arqiette hade a hard pregnancy. It seem that the big thing for next season is a lot of shows about people with second sight, so since this was the frst show to start this new rage I doubt they will be dropping it.

I just watched it tonight at 9:00pm (Eastern time in Ontario) on the W network. I think it may have be a re-run though, but I'd never seen it. Love that show!

No it didn't get cancelled. It will be back, I'm just not sure if they are going to air it in September or wait until January again.
