I run several website for a B2B group but they have no web KPI's in place. I look at visitor/new visitor splits - engine referral levels, and numbers of subscribers but am I missing another dimention here?

By KPI I mean - being able to report back to the rest of the business what progress the website is making in its own right and against other websites in the same field

If you are a sub-contractor / consultant being paid by the site 'owners', then all you are likely to have access to are the site statistics - such as 'click counts' or 'unique page impressions' or 'visitors per month'. Ideal would perhaps be 'number of completed transactions' ...

If you are the site owner, ignore the consultants hype and focus ONLY on the Turnover and Profit delivered by the site ...

i.e. calculate the total value of orders received via the site and the actual Profit (after subtracting Maintenance, Hosting, Support, and any other costs eg. 'consultants' fees etc etc)
