We do, here in Michigan, I have a memorial to all soldiers and my flag is both lit and has never been higher then half mast.

To lower your flag would be a choice you have to make on your own. The truth is if you decided to lower your flag everytime a soldier died it'd never be up.

Also, Soldiers do recieve memorial services just like the firemen did, they just aren't televised.

If there is a Soldier from your community who dies and they hold a memorial service for him when his/her body is returned, I BEG you to attend the service. I have attended two and the memorial services are very touching.
