40,000/year and no i am still considered poor in the suburbs of San Francisco. I have nice stuff tho. A guitar and a rice cooker and a iPod and my own place to live.

First I would like to know what your definition of rich is. Are you part of an elite team that very few can accomplish? Do you have alot of money? I am rich because I am part of a brother hood in the service that few can claim! Rich in family and love to my wife and children. I own more things than most but I define being rich in the aspect of the amount of people that love and/or respect you. Hope you have the same and I mean true friends not leeches!

You bet I am. I live about 35 miles from the nearest town and that town doesn't have a grocery store. I live with my 40 dogs, 2 cats, 2 lizards and an Alaska full of moose, caribou, fox, eagles, badgers, bears.... I can sit on my deck with a cup of tea and watch animals in my yard or stare at Denali or watch the northern lights with 0 light pollution.
I don't have any traffic, no crime and no crowds. I don't get tv or a newspaper. I don't get salesmen or Jehovah's Witnesses.
I grow most of my vegetables, bake my own bread, shoot or catch my own meals, drink water so clear it some times doesn't seam to even be there and even trap and sew some of my own clothes.
Two weeks each summer I teach Boy Scouts outdoor survivals skills. And two weeks each winter I take them to the arctic circle and teach them to live in the most unforgiving environment on earth. And I usually run in a 1100 mile dog race to Nome each year.
When I need something, I hitch up my sled dogs or ride my 4 wheeler into Talkeetna. If I need something big I fly my plane to Anchorage.
My wife loves me, my kids call often and my brothers live 5,000 miles away.
I am not Paris Hilton rich. I take in about $6,000 a month in retirement. I own my cabin outright. And I have about $200,000 in the bank. I also have some cash stashed around the cabin. I dare you to come and take it away from me.
I am the richest man in the world!

my parents are
they hav a 5 bedroom house , a 2 storey holiday house n the beach, 4 flats, a business
and like 3 cars incuding a merc.
and about 50grand in the bank
is that rich?
overal it adds up to abut 1.8m

I am richer beyond my dreams, because I have two little girls who love me and think I am the best! I never thought I'd be this wealthy, it makes me want to cry when I think about it.
Oh, and I have enough money to do the things I want and not worry much about the future, and I know how to make more, if that's what you mean.
