Is Vogue more of a competitor in terms of going international?

Nope... Time, Life, Newsweek!

Well, Vogue was first published in 1892. However, Cosmo was first published in 1886 and the first version of Life in 1883 (however, the modern version dates to 1936). Time didn't come on the seen until 1923, and Newsweek was first published a decade after Time.

But for first to go international, you'll most likely have to look at some that are no longer being published, like Harper's Weekly.
