Hell no! I figured the "burn rate" was about the same no matter what. I don't know anyone who takes extra good care of themselves and lives an extra 10 years. I did watch a few of my friends die because of REALLY stupid stuff. I tried drugs, but figured it was not worth dying for.

Still, I drove fast, took risks at fires, and went the extra mile at rescue alarms. I accumulated a lot of extra scars, sprains, strains and a few breaks. Still the body chugs along and is well into a third career. the key, I think, is to know your limits and to push them, but not ignore them.

When your life is over, you will have accomplished exactly what you risked to accomplish. My life story is already one worth telling. If I fall apart tomorrow, I will die without regret.

The Star's "fun-o-meter" has been pegged for most of my life.

My youth was uneventful in every aspect.
My parents were strict and since they had a restaurant, I basically worked there after school and weekends. That was 12 till 17.
Up until 12, it was fun and very innocent. Playing with all the neighbourhood kids.
I started going out a little at 19, but by then my "youth" had gone.
But it was my experience and it was what is was.
I hope my child grows up with wonderful memories of his youth, with no regrets.

I ran away from home at sixteen and, joined the Army. Being a "Flag waver" I ended up in 'Nam at seventeen and, not so unusual there were more then a few of us "underage kids" there, at the time. I relived my youth later, going to school etc.

Some of it yes and some of it no. I dont think Id change anything though because those past experiences made me who I am today and I rather like this person I am. Cant say I'm not ashamed of a few certain things but I really dont think Id change it if I had a chance to.

I'm 30, and I'm still working at it.

Youth is as long as we feel it.

I don't think I took the time to enjoy it. I always took on the responsibility for everything. My stepfather always called me a 90 year old teenager. So now I try to enjoy things and appreciate things more.

Well, I didn't get knocked up, catch an STD, go to prison or kill someone.

All in all, I guess I spent it wisely.
