How many people here think that daylight saving time should be abandoned. It doesn't give us more daylight, and those who think that it does need to have their heads checked. If it's summer solstice and nature dictates that the sun rises at 4:30 A.M. on standard time and sets at 7:30 P.M., so be it. I know the argument is that daylight saving time gives us more usable daylight. Why can't I use the daylight when I want? Why does the federal government need to step in and order us to falsify time for what is now eight months out of the year? BTW, the energy saving argument doesn't make sense. Daylight saving effectively creates darker mornings, especially in March and October and it allows working people to return home earlier in the solar day, thereby running air conditioners for a longer period of time. Will Congress ever get the nerve to abandon this practice?
