If you don't trust him enough to believe him when he tells you that he's divorced, why do you want to be with him?

My single friends share the expense of a cradle to present people look up service. Not only do they get marital status the service also includes address, owned or renting, all phone numbers and the other all important civil and penal records. The civil includes all court filings, divorce, child custody, evictions, bankruptcies and repossessions and the penal includes arrests and traffic tickets from parking to DUI's. If I had children a pedophile look up would be prudent and it includes all arrests and court case numbers.
If I were single this would be my first stop when I would start to date. There are a number of services on the Internet and they are all pretty much the same for what you get for the money. Usually under $50. for unlimited use and worth every penny to quickly eliminate the married, alcoholic, no drivers license because he doesn't pay his former wife the court ordered child support, bank robber that doesn't pay his other bills kiddy rapist.
Whew! Ain't modern technology grand?

Tell him you would like to know where the divorce was filed. It should be on record there. Or you could ask for a copy of the divorce decree.

Just have him show you the paperwork showing the divorce decree. You should not be embarrassed to see it. Or play stupid and say you are curious what it looks like.
Or go to your local town hall and ask the town clerk how you can find out if someone is really divorced or if he is lying. They will know.

birth certificates, deat certificates and divorce decrees are public record, ask where hes lived and where he got married and divorced in normal conversation, then go to that town or go online to vital records and order a copy if they have it you'll pay like 9 bucks for a copy, On a bigger note if you have doubt and dont trust this man, and you asked and he said no, why are you checking up on it and why are you with him?

Do not bother. If he says he is "divorced" or "separated" without giving you details, he is cheating on his wife.
