She needs to go to the emergency room and have a SANE exam done. She can't wait till Monday either. Tell her to have the SANE exam done and if she doesn't want to persue that any futher, it is her decision. But she will need counseling, because some time in her life something will trigger memories and she won't be able to handle it then. She can contact her local rape crisis center and talk with them. Everything is confidential and they will help her through the process. She can also call 1-866-627-4747 to get help where to go or just to talk with someone that won't judge her. She did nothing wrong, it is not her fault. She doesn't have scars on the outside where you can see them, they are hidden, but they are there. She needs to understand that this person has probably raped before and will more likely do it again and he is laughing at the women because he is getting away with it. The ten good reasons that you want for her to go to the police are the next ten women that he will rape. If the person he raped before here would have reported and prosecuted, he may not have been able to rape her.

My God, what a terrible experience to have to endure....

Your friend needs to know:

it was not her fault. She did nothing to bring this on herself. You must convince her in a firm, but loving manner that if she does not report this, she is allowing him to wreak havoc in her mind....and allowing him to do this to someone else (if he hasn't already).

Letting him go is giving away her power and she's got to get her power back.... it's apart of the healing process...

Any evidence (physical) may be destroyed by now if she showered, but some evidence just might be left. There also may be some internal bruising that can not be seen so easily... The rape kit at the hospital will identify this.

You must connect her w/ a crisis counselor because her emotions are going to eventually be all over the place (partly from replaying the offense). Get your other girlfriends to rally around her for support and lead her to to the right thing...she will thank you...down the road... Don't waste anymore time....

You don't need ten reasons, there is only one, because the guy will do it to someone else. Call the cops for her. Let her work it out with them.

Apparently you know who it was who did this and if you are truly her friend then you'll report it even if she doesnt want you to. She is apparenly shocked that it happened and she needs you to step up and help her out by reporting it

Leave her alone. It's none of your business. Let her be. It's HER decision, NOT yours. Shes' humiliated, and uncomfortable with you knowing. Don't push her into suicide.

It's her life and it's her decision whether to do anything about it.

You can offer her your help. But it's up to her whether to accept your help or not. And you've got to respect her decision because she is not crazy. She is an adult. And she has the right to decide for herself.
