Curing refers not only to drying, but also allowing the chemicals to bond together. After the cement seems dry it still takes some time to cure completely.

When cement is freshly poured..as in a slab.. it has to "cure". That means it has to have time to dry before you can walk on it or do any other work with it. In woodworking.......let it acclimate to room temperature before you do any cutting.

curing means aging, as in concrete or word. As concrete and wood both get stronger as they age.

"curing" is what cement does as it dries. usually any liquid that has to dry into a product, ie. cement, plaster, pottery slip, paint, etc.
