Well, I mostly use Ruckus, which actually allows download of whatever songs or albums you're looking for. It's free if you're a college student. (maybe not for some colleges, i don't know, my .edu address worked)

For radio I have used and like Pandora. Rather than just a broad genre like "jazz" you can actually listen to music which their system calculates as being similar to artists you already like. Although one of my favorite artists, Allan Holdsworth, really has no equals. But I have a channel for him anyway, there are various fusion artists on that rotation, many of which I do enjoy.

I found the Smooth Jazz station thru Yahoo's Launch Cast the other day and it was really interesting to listen to.

WKCR out of Columbia University in NYC is the best station that I know. Its ran by the jazz department of the University.
They play entire album sides at a time, and tell you about the musicians, often from firsthand experience. they play all types of jazz.
