I know every group has their bad and good people, but if you had to generalize...what is your opinion on Rajput men? Or how about men from Uttar Pradesh?

I'm a Rajput girl raised in America, and my family is originally from U.P. I'm thinking if I can't find anyone here in America, maybe I should just go to India and find someone. But, I'm pretty liberal in a lot of ways and believe in the ethical treatment towards women. I don't want to be stuck with someone who's a wife-beater or whose family treats me like property.

Before anyone recommends finding a Rajput/UP-ite boy in America, it's very hard because hardly anyone from that community migrated. The Indians in America are mostly Punjabi, Gujarati Patels, and South Indian. My parents don't mind me marrying out of my community, but it's hard to find a decent person now these days.

If anyone is confused, yes all Rajputs are originally from Rajasthan...but my family settled in UP 200-300 years ago or so.

Uh Zain..I didn't ask the information about them lol! I already know about what they are and where they hail from.

I'm asking about their reputation. You know how each Indian community has it's stereotypes.

Rajput is a Hindu Kshatriya caste. They claim descent from the ancient royal warrior dynasties of Kshatriyas in India and have roots to Rajputana, an area which has come to be known as Rajasthan after the formation of this state in independent, post-colonial India. They are numerous in Uttar Pradesh (UP), Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Delhi in India. Within the Hindu caste system, present day Rajputs constitute one of the principal groups belonging to the Kshatriya varna. The Rajputs ruled more than four hundred out of six hundred estimated number of princely states at the time of independence of India and Pakistan.
