The reason the US doesn't make it an issue is because the flag itself is not being used as a bikini. An image of the flag is being used. It's only 'degrading' when something is being done to the flag itself.

The flag is not to be used as clothing in any form-- much less a bikini. In the days when people still had respect, everyone knew this.

Sex sells, and since the American government can care less about its people and only about the money it can steal (since it has been proven that the IRS is an illegal operation) they will let the flag be on anything...as long as the correct sales tax was collected at time of purchase.

In the USA there is freedom of speech. It has been determined by the Supreme Court that such uses of the flag (up to and including burning) are forms of speech protected by the Constitution. I kind of comes down to the old saying "I don't agree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it to the death."

We live in "the land of the free." They let us intellectually inferior women wear whatever we want to in this country. Yeah, that is a reference to your other question you posted earlier, you pig.
