Well, a birds inner nature, or may I say, purpose, is not to fly. That is something it is capable of, but that's not it's purpose.

Defining our purpose is what we are here to do. That is, in essence, our purpose.

A flower blooming or a bird flying is an autonomic response(a system that operates and serves its purpose by managing its own self without external intervention even in case of environmental changes.) Much the same way as the cells of the body know how to repair a wound.

Our inner nature is determined by our primitive, emotional and intellectual levels. We evolve even within our own lifetime. And thus, come to know our own inner nature, each at a time that is right for them.

a bird knowing how to fly, a flower knowing how to bloom, doesn't mean that they are sure of their inner nature. its like we know how to walk, talk.
what we are is hard to know, one thing that anyone can go looking for, needs no qualifications. probably because of this we don't know our true nature, so that at least we can do something without having to fulfill the various 'tests' the society has made.

cause birds and flowers dont waste time and energy trying to figure out what all the other birds and flowers are thinking about how they fly and bloom or telling the others how to do it better...

Life is a busy place, and often we tend tofocus on it a bit much, and less often look within ourselves to find our inner nature. it is there to be discovered, and maintain,if we take time to look within ourselves with vision like a bird has varied vision ability. Then we come to a knowledge of our inner nature, and understand ourselves more so,with better abilities in recognizing ourselves, as with others..if we know our inner Nature we also have the capabilities of knowing more of and about those who suround us in more degree. that is not saying we are all the same, but it gives more oppritunity for knowledge.--through our own inner Nature.

That is the crux of the shadow. Our inner nature is instictive to us, but....we are the only animal that has a concept of time. That is all that seperates us from the rest. We can 'dream' of a future. Because of this 'blessing/curse', we are deluded with those who use it for their own selfish purposes, ie. organized religion, well organized anything. Because we can 'dream', we can be corrupt by those who try to manipulate us into their own 'dreams'. They detract us from the path we are meant to follow. But, also, if you keep your mind open, you can learn from them as well in ways to benefit you. Which, basically falls into the trap of our curse. To renounce ourselves is to renounce the understanding we are blessed to be able to see in the world and ourselves.

Freakin' life.

I think we are. We know how to walk. it just doesn't seem like it because we are lost in power and technology.
