its a yellow tang, the green like moss seems to grow very fast in morning was a spot by late afternoon was much larger. PLEASE HELP!!! new to reef tank life

I'd have to disagree with ich - marine ich appears as white spots like grains of salt, and that doesn't sound like your description.

If this is white, I'd be more inclined to believe this is lymphocystis (viral) or a fungal problem. If grayish and slimy, this may be Brooklynella, a parasitie.

The problem here is that we can't see what you're seeing on your fish. I'm sending along a link to a website on diseases of marine fish - you can look at the photos and see if either of these (or something else) can be identified as what your fish has. If it's white, then most likely it is a condition known as Ick. You can buy treatments at most good pet stores, it's not nearly as hard to get rid of as it used to be.

Hmm, it's greenish you say....?
I guess the true fungus could fit that description; it looks greyish sometimes.
