Tea has a very low caffeine level. I would try and stay away from things like coffee (unless decaf) and sodas like Mountain Dew and Coke and things like that. I wouldn't be worried I drank a lot of tea when I became pregnant this time and I'm fine. You can also ask your doctor about medication for the nausea and vomiting. I had gotten some because I couldn't keep anything down and it worked.

About the sugar, you could end up getting gestational diabetes if you eat too much sugar but I think you'd have to keep your sugar levels high for quite along time. Everything that we eat practically has sugar in it (including sodium). I wouldn't worry about the sugar unless you are using cups. If you are really worried you can talk to your doctor.

Good Luck and congrats!

Here is a chart to show you how much caffeine is in tea, cola and coffee. Coffee in a 5 oz cup has 80 milligrams per serving. Cola 12 oz can 45 milligrams, Black tea (one tea bag) 40 milligrams and herbal tea 0 milligrams.

So if you're talking about decaf coffee than yes that would be less in caffeeine than tea.

There are a couple of websites. So it isn't true that tea has more caffeine than coffee and soda. Believe me if that was true I would'nt have been able to drink it when I was 5.

My wife was very sick the whole time she was pregnant. She would vomit all the time. She was in the hospital countless times on an IV because she could not keep much down.

Ginger ale was about the only thing she could drink without vomiting. Her mom and Grandma were the same way.

Her doctor prescribed Zofran to help stop the vomiting. It did work a little bit. If you are having serious problems with vomiting you might talk with your doctor about Zofran or something similar.

Presumably you are eating other stuff. I wouldn't worry about it unless the doctor does. Hopefully, in a month or so you will be past all that. No, it won't make your child diabetic either. You can also try ginger ale, but you have to go to a health food store to find it today. The stuff at the grocery store no longer contains ginger!

Congratulations and I hope you feel better soon!

You could get decaf tea at any store, and you could try sweetening it with something like splenda or sweet-n-low or honey (that is, as long as you check with your doctor first on artificial sweeteners). I don't know anything about the mother's diet making the baby diabetic, and if that was a concern your doc would probably have mentioned it. Relax, you're ok!

Congrats on your new little one! Do your best to rest and relax and let him thrive... All the best!

Denise said that tea is LOW in caffiene..no it is actually WAY higher than coffee and soda! So yeah they say that caffiene SHOULDNT harm the baby..but you dont want to take that risk right. Some caffiene wont hurt you but cut back..make decaf...thats what I did when I was pregnant with my twins..tastes exactly the same. I wouldnt worry too much about the sugar unless the doc says to!

I drink candy tea, yet I make constructive that it truly is de-caffeinated. it tastes in basic terms as stable, yet then i do no longer could desire to stress touching directly to the caffeine intake. regardless of the indisputable fact that, many medical doctors say that a small quantity of caffeine intake an afternoon is wonderful; others say none in any respect. in case you may desire to have the caffeine however, in basic terms computer screen how lots candy tea you drink.

well if its ok with him...keep drinking. How about altering how you drink it. I usually dilute my tea (I cant get enough of Iced tea right now also) with water and instead of using regular table sugar use splenda....I swear it tastes like regular sugar and your not overloading on sweet! Try it.......

Try de-caff tea but DO NOT use artificial sweeteners.
You'll be fine.... within weeks you'll be eating normally again.
