I don't know what the others are defining as a decent college but you can get into a state university. I would strongly recommend that you really focus over the next year and practice the SAT and you should be okay. If not, start with an easier college and work your way up. No shame in that

You certainly can get into a decent college. I've been looking at Collegeboard and some pretty good schools (Such as Arizona and Arizona State) include 20 percent of their students with a GPA between 2.5 and 2.9. Don't count yourself out.

Some colleges not only look at GPA they also take into consideration whether you did any community service or if you have a job. THere are some pretty good community colleges but it doesn't hurt to apply to the school you really want to go to.

In short - no. Try as hard as you can to get above a 3.0, preferably above a 3.5. Also, you will need to retake the SAT - 1500 is average, but with your grades, you will need to be above average. I would also definately consider a community college for a few years- then you can transfer to a 4 year college.

The colleges of the state you live in have to accept you if you have a 2.0 or better. I applied to Harvard, Yale and MIT and I had a 2.8 GPA. I didn't get accepted but I applied. I have the rejection letters framed and hanging on a wall in my den.

It depends. Some state schools will admit you, and maybe even some private schools. they'll also look at extracurriculars and your essay. Also if you have a family member that graduated from a certain college, you may get in easier.

Nope, to get into a decent college you need at least a 3.5 GPA.
