I am privy to the Beatles. But Elvis was great too.

Solo artist vs a band?

Is this a fair question?

I'm partial to the Beatles too. By the time I started listening to rock music Elvis's hey day was over and he was making those stupid movies and doing Vegas. The Beatles took what Elvis started and ran forward, becoming very innovative and creative with new sounds and styles. I am always amazed when I listen to Abbey Road. It was their final recorded effort and they were starting to lean a little more towards the bluesy influence that heavy metal derived from. Had they continued on as a band they would have continued to shock and awe us avid fans. Up until John Lennon was murdered in 1980 a part of me always believed that they would reunite.

It's an apples and oranges question. Elvis epitomized the exciting new sound of rock and roll in the 50's while the Beatles in the 60's help transform rock and roll into more sophisticated rock music. Both will continue to be muscial legends no matter what

Beatles, they practically defined a generation , they are the primary music of the 20th century. Yes Elvis was good, but not near the level of the Beatles
