while freedom on the net has obviously allowed so much sex oriented discussions, how about centering more on issues like responsible parenthood, sharing reflections on how to make life more meaningful, sharing tips on how to be successful careerwise or on the job, sharing counsel on how to make a relationship more rewarding emotionally and spiritually... because there is more to life than being horny and being voyeuristic/exhibitionistic.

True. I figure most of the people in chat rooms are about 15 -22, bored, dateless, and they're venting their sexual frustration by chatting about sex - it's the only outlet they have. They're fearful and haven't got a clue about how to really get out into society. They're probably very fearful, inexperienced, inept and insecure and maybe have low self esteem. They can't share tips because they don't know anything worth sharing.

EXACTLY! I had never really chatted much with strangers until I was really bored one night and decided to go into a chat room. Everyone, I mean every single person that hit me up was looking for sex. When I would try to change the topic they would either end the chat or go back to asking me if I had a webcam. It was ridiculous. I have never gone back.

There are plenty of places on the Internet that focus on the issues you mentioned. Maybe you need to do some research to find these places. Yahoo has plenty of message boards groups and chat rooms for all of this.
