About 10,621 gallons.
The area of the surface: pi * radius squared so...
3.14 * 6 = 18.84 square that and you get 354.9456
So you have 354.9456 square feet on the surface.
Times the depth (354.9456 * 4) and you get 1419.7824 cubic feet of water in the pool.
1 cubic foot = 7.48051945 US gallons
so 7.48051945 * 1419.7824 = 10620.70985796768 gallons

a volume math question requires the third dimension. This question has insufficient data to be able to caculate the volume of the pool, ie how many gallons. Any answer otherwise would be assuming some information which may be false or true, more risk of it being false. Is it square? round? long rectangle? short rectangle? etc...Each case would provide a different amount of gallons, and if its rectangular, then the third dimension could be a lot of different measurements.

There are 7.48 gallons per cubic foot.
I assume the pool is circular and the diameter is 12 feet and the radius is 6 feet.
Volume of pool = (area of circular base)(height of the pool)
V = pi[ (radius)^2 ]h
V = 3.14159[ (6 feet)^2 ](4 feet)
V = 452.39 cubic feet
gallons of water in pool = (452.39 cubic feet)(7.48 gallons) / 1 cubic foot)
gallons of water in the pool = 3,383.87 gallons

The volume of a rectangular pool can be calculated using the following formula:
Volume = Length x Width x Depth
so what is width?

Given that the swimming pool is:
12x12 feet wide
and
4 feet deep
THEREFORE:
12 x 12 x 4 = 576 cubic feet
CONVERSION:
1 cubic foot = 7.48052 gallons
ANSWER:
576 cubic feet = (576 cubic feet)(7.48052 gallons / cubic feet)
576 cubic feet = (576)(7.48052 gallons)
576 cubic feet = 4308.77952 gallons

12 feet times 4 feet is 48 cubic feet.
There are 7.48 gallons in a cubic foot.....so mulitply 48 times 7.48 to get the total number of gallons.....Keep in mind I'm talking about US gallons, not Imperial gallons.
