The last time I fought my body from sleeping was approx. 20 yrs. ago. It was when my mother was very ill; she lived here at home with me; and I stayed up for 5 days, without sleep, caring for her. Then her last night to live; which I wasn't aware of; I just had to lay down. I was so tired that I was seeing double. Well she passed away, in her sleep, and when I awoke about 3 hrs. later, she had gone. Very hard, but that is part of life. Just writing about this, even though it was that long ago, makes me miss here so.

last semester, the night before the last day of school. stayed up til 4 preparing and finishing and fine-tuning work for my final crit the next morning at 9. Thought I'd go to sleep for 3 hours and wake up at 7. I woke up at 10:30. Missed my crit. And all the hard work I had done during the year almost wasn't worth it because what happens in the end is as important as what happens during the year. I dont know if it was worth it. I think the 3 hours of sleeping part was the not worth it. Bad idea.

I fought sleep on my way home from the Zoo today. I did it because I was driving, and it was worth it because my 9 month old son was in the back seat.

a little more than a year ago. i was bringing my sister home from another state where she was living. i was determined to make it all of the way there without having to sleep and with some coffee i did it. it was worth it as i did not have money for a motel. stupid i know and i will never do it again. i learned my lesson. good luck.

I participated in Relay for Life, a community fundraiser where you walk a track and participate in activities from 5 pm to 11 am. No sleep. My contacts got dry and stuck to my eyes, therefore causing me to rip off my corneas when I removed them, but other than that exructiating pain, it was worth it raising money for cancer research!

I used to work the graveyard shift watching teenage delinquints sleep and to make sure they stayed in their beds. We sat in the dark , not talking, and after a while a kind of euphoric state would set it. It was worth it to keep my job but I couldn't take it anymore so they put my on second shift. MUUUUUUUUUUUCH better !

A month ago, just to set a new record for staying up longer than ever before. I guess it was worth it. I was tired though and I woke up with bags under my eyes.

I like nothing better then to lay around like a cat sleeping and lounging the day away,I don't put up any fight in the "sleep arena".
