Ballet is great because it will give you great fundamentals of all other dance forms. On the other hand, it's hard and takes a lot of work, which can be frustrating.

Ballroom is just a fun, practical dance form. It is graceful and fascinating, easier to learn.

Either one is great.....I'm more partial to ballet though.

Good Luck!

If you're under age twelve, ballet for the fundamentals. If you're older, ballroom for the social skill. Ballroom will last a lifetime, barring major medical problems, and it translates well into social dancing. Given the opportunity, though, your developes and such in ballroom will be easier to master if you can take some ballet lessons, too.

Ballet-because it takes ALOT more effort, coordination, and strength than ballroom dancing. And you will never see "Ballet dancing w/the stars" because it's such a difficult art to master. Ballroom dancing is still strenuous, but much easier.

I'd rather watch ballet than ballroom. As for dancing myself, ballet if you're a kid, ballroom if you're an adult.

Ballroom - more accessible - more variety - more likely to be in physical condition to perform later in life....ballet is lovely....but I love ballroom.

Love them both, but in my eyes, I see Ballroom being more tangible. You are more likely to use it than you are ballet (unless, of course you are planning to work as a ballerina).

ballet, you'll need a partner for ballroom ballet you could use more often and is much more versatile

ballet for the technical aspect; if you're looking for a dance to brush up on your techniques and build up a strong dance foundation. with these it's easier to take on other forms of dances later.
ballroom for it's versatility; if you're just looking for some fun and also partner work (also working with trust) or if you've already have had some experience is dance.
either dance, both will be fun and enjoyable if you enjoy dancing! :)

Both, start with ballet though. Get a strong foundation and you can do most any type of dance from there.
Have fun what ever you do!
