Nancy, it's Dianne.
As a nurse, i can tell you.
Take a teaspoon of sugar on your tongue. Swallow it slowly, like over several minutes.

I know it doesn't sound like a good idea on a diet, but it works.

I don't know how bad your hiccups are,but I usually just hold my breath and drink a whole glass of water and then there gone.

Everybody knows that theirs is the best.

This is a bartender remedy:
Take half a glass of club soda, pour some bitters in it, stand up, sip it from the glass backwards and count from 10 to 1.

I laugh so hard, because I don't get normal hiccups. Mine vibrate against my vocal chords and they are sooo loud. I think I could enter Ripley's Believe it or Not. If there's anyone within a 1/2 block they laugh at me and then say, "Are you alright???"

Laughing hysterically.

this works for me everytime. it doesn't always work on the first time, but if you do it a couple of times, it should work.

1. sit very still

2. hold your breath for about 10 seconds (I usually do the 1 1000, 2 1000 thing)

3. Let the air out very slowly.

like i said, works for me everytime
