The problem is that site designers are building websites for high speed connections and leaving those with dial-up to wait and wait while fancy interactive pages load.
If you want to laugh, try going to the Comcast website and navigate to the page that explains: Why Switch to Comcast?
The page is obviously developed to convince those without Comcast High Speed of the advantages of having High Speed, but you practically need a high speed connection just to load the page. Be prepared to wait... but maybe that's the whole point!

It could be a lot of things. Web pages are adding a lot more content that consumes bandwidth, like those ads that flash and move. If you're using the same computer you used five years ago, you might need more RAM to cope with the increased content. If your dial-up provider is putting their software between you and your internet browser, that can slow things down. You might want to find out if there's a way you can go directly to the internet without their software. But your best option is to toss in a few more bucks a month and get DSL. It's cheaper than cable, faster than dial-up, and you can get it through the same phone line you're using now ( if it's available in your area).

The bandwidth offerred by the dial up connection is very limited thus implying limited data transferring capacity. The websites nowadays pack in a lot of data in terms of pictures and pop ups. This results in time delay in opening of sites.
U can also check whether ur PC has been infected with a virus which is making it run slowly

There are several speeds that dial up internet can run at. 28.8k is the fast that you can run over some phone lines. If you live close enough to town you can possibly run at 56k (although it will probably end up being around 4?k). So it could be that it is just slower at the location you are at now... or it could be that it just seems slower because you have been using a broadband connection elsewhere
