Color is not important when you are choosing a violin to buy. The choice is made based on the sound the violin produces--they each sound different--and how responsive the violin is to your touch.

If you look at a symphony orchestra you will see that the string instruments are in many shades. I'm not saying I don't like some colors more than others, but really the best way to choose a violin would be to wear a blindfold and then try as many as you can in your price range and then choose the one you like best.

Remember, please, the violin is all about music and music is sound.

Enjoy your new instrument--I'm jealous of you!

well it is fine. trust me. Okay i have a freind who is in the school band and her favorite color is blue so her violin that she bought on ebay is Bright blue. Vioolins come in many colors and some people might not know that. but who cares what it looks like all that matteres is what you think. if the violin is of equal quality as a regular colored violin then it wont matter the color. they still sound the same.

Paint adversely impacts the vibration of an acoustic violin. The sound is dampened and inferior. you are going to be able to observe that no stable high quality violins are ever painted; purely the cheap, junky ones that truly won't be able to sound any worse get paint jobs. they're marketed usually to midsection schoolers who're prepared to play violin if the violin seems "cool."

There may be expensive violins in colors, but I've never seen any. The ones I've seen (blue, purple), were cheap in the extreme and sounded really, really bad. Unplayable, actually.

If it doesn't affect the sound, it should not be a problem. Get what you like.

It's fine, so long as it's real and not made of plastic.

it should be fine if it tunes okay, but you should take it to a luthier to inspect it;
