Yes. The vampire books of Chelsa Quinn Yarbro. While the vampires (the good ones) admit to NEEDING blood to survive, they don't like it and they avoid human blood. They are also very historically accurate and interesting. They trace a vampire through many different historical eras for example ancient Rome, Byzantium, and WWII Germany.

The Space Vampires A Scourge of Sex and Death from an Alien Spaceship by Colin Wilson (1977) is about psychic vampires (thrive on the body's energy) trapped in space.

Try some hilarious vampire books - try Christopher Moore's Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck. He is too funny. All his books are great.

The vampires in Twilight and New Moon feed off animals - they do not feed from human blood. Pax- C

Don't believe there are any. Many have 'moral' vampires, who only kill evil people. On TV Angel fed on animal blood, but early on when he was first on Buffy he did feed on human blood. In some Ann Price novels there are ancient ancient vampires who rarely drink any blood.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but try "Bloodsucking Fiends," and "You Suck" By Christopher Moore. They're hilarious! They're about this average girl and guy who are pretty much just coasting through life, til they get tossed into the vamp world. The last book comes complete with a hooker who dyes herself blue, lol it's funnier than it sounds, I promise. Anyhoo, they're both pretty disgusted with drinking blood at first, and they go through all these tests trying to figure out what kind of vamp powers they have. Hope you enjoy! Happy reading!

Well, Christine Feehan writes about Carpathians who drink blood but don't kill anyone. However, I think it is her story "Dark Gold" where a Carpathian woman who doesn't realize she is Carpathian uses blood transfusions because she doesn't like blood. I'm sorry - that's the best I can do :)
