If your into the casino scene why not take a trip to Atlantic City, NJ , nice hotels and casinos a beautiful beach good restaurants and shopping or go to Connecticut and visit either Foxwoods Or Mohegan Sun all roughly around 3 hours away from Long Island where I live or 2 hours from Manhattan. Enjoy your trip and have fun.

The best fun trip to go to in August is no doubt the "State Fair Park" in West Allis, WI. A very beautiful county outside of Milwaukee. The fair begins on August 2 and ends August 12. Don't miss this exciting event, food, rides for all ages, great sites. Hotels are near by and rates are reasonable..

Visit some haunted places in New York...
Basom - Indian Falls - Back in the late 1900's (no specific date sorry) a women and her husband were traveling along the edge of the falls. And the husband fell in. It’s claimed that she didn’t want to live without him. She jumped in too. People have claimed that still today they can see that women and sometimes they see Red light or orbs floating around the spots she died.

I lived in New York, how about driving to the hamptons in Long Island or the poconos in pennsylvania.

well, I don't live in NY but a state web site will give you lots of interesting places to go....depending on what you like rivers, parks, historical sights, museums, etc
