The width of a rectangular playground is 2x-5 feet, and the length is 3x + 9 feet. Write a polynomial P(x) that represents the perimeter and then evaluate this perimeter and then evaluate this perimeter polynomial if x is 4 feet.

I think you meant to ask "Perimeter of a rectangle?".

If x = 4, then the length of one side is
2x - 5
= 2*4 - 5
= 8 - 5
= 3 feet

The length of the other side is
3x + 9
= 3*4 + 9
= 12 + 9
= 21 feet

So, the playground is 3 feet by 21 feet. The perimeter of a rectangle is found by adding up the lengths of each side:

Two sides are 21 feet long, and two sides are 3 feet long, so the total perimeter is
(3+3+21+21) feet
= 48 feet

To write a polynomial that represents the perimeter, just leave x as a variable, without replacing it with "4". The total perimeter is then
(2x-5) + (2x-5) + (3x+9) + (3x+9)
= 2*(2x-5) + 2*(3x+9)
= (4x-10) + (6x+18)
= 10x + 8

The perimeter of a rectangle is two times the width plus two times the length so the polynomial is 2(2x-5)+2(3x+9). Not sure why you are asking about a triangle in the title of your question. The solution to the rectangle problem is 4x-10+6x+18 simplified to 10x+8. When x=4 the perimeter is 48.

Hello i really like you're question.....
It is not a triangle but it is a rectangle
here is my approach
In the problem the perimeter of rectangle is given by
P =2W + 2L
In polynomial form let say function of x
P(x) = 2(2x-5) + 2(3x+9)
P(x) = 4x-10 + 6x +18
P(x) = 10X + 8 ------------polynomial equation
if x =4 ft
P(4) = 10(4) +8
P(4) = 48 ft]
dont forget the unit...... email up if it is wrong buntales_27@yahoo.com

If the perimeter is 2l plus 2w, then 2(3x+9)+2(2x-5)= the perimeter

You get 10x +8

then, if you plug 4 feet in, you get 48 feet.

If the triangle is a stunning triangle then this could be effortless. On each triangle the internal(interior) angles continually upload as much as be a hundred and eighty stages. no remember what length or shape the interior angles continually upload as much as a hundred and eighty. consequently the angles interior could purely be ninety(if its a stunning attitude)+the attitude you have been given (shall we are saying 32 stages) + the unknown attitude= a hundred and eighty. 32+ninety+__=a hundred and eighty --> 122+___=a hundred and eighty consequently the unknown attitude is fifty 8. whilst you're discovering Tangent, Cosine, and Sine. then you rather use those formulation to confirm the lacking part lengths. you additionally can use the Pythagoreum theorem (a^2 + b^2 = c^2) to locate the appropriate part.
