It's the best way to do it without having to see the person. And it's only been a week. And you are a teen. I would say you could get away with it.

I know that I really wouldn't want someone to break up with me over text message. At least give him (or her...?) a phone call, since that's a little more personal. A phone call should be fine if you've only been dating for a week. However, it would be incredibly admirable if you broke up with him personally.

Being a teenager doesn't excuse you from doing the right thing, hon. Sorry, but these are things you have to do face-to-face. I know it's not easy, but you'll feel better about yourself if you do. Text messaging is too impersonal. Look at it from his point of view - would you appreciate being dumped that way?

Normally, I would say yes, but if its only been a little over a week, I don't think its that big of a deal. I would be prepared to meet in person, if he/she wants to though..

I'm a teen to but i guess text are quick and easy and bares the hardship to look them in the eye and tell them "its over" and if they got ?z then they can jut text you back. lately its gotten to be the best way to me for small relationships.

It the act of a child, a person who jumps to conclusions with out getting the answers first. If you can give up that easy , then your probably not ready for a relationship.

It's pretty cowardly. And rude. If you liked them enough to ask them out and go out, you should be able to break up the same way...face to face.

Yes, it also shows immaturity and the inability to have a mature relationship.

Just my opinion, sorry.
