If you plan to visit other casinos, I'd go with Excalibur. It's connected to Mandalay Bay and Luxor by monorail. There are also walkways to New York, MGM, and Tropicana. Circus Circus is very out of the way (at the far northern end of the Strip).
Both Excalibur and Circus Circus have below average rooms and lousy food. But, this is Las Vegas... you get what you pay for.
Although both CIrcus Circus and Excalibur have solid attractions for younger children, Excalibur is better suited for teens because of the prime location. Luxor's IMAX motion simulators, the giant Gameworks arcade, and New York's excellent roller coaster are nearby. Adventuredome is actually far more low-key than they let on. You won't be missing much.

The Circus Circus is the better deal. I've seen them have rooms for 39 dollars a night. The Excalibur rooms are about 70 dollars a night. The Circus Circus is close to the bus and and the monorail if you're not driving. In August the weather will be something like 116 so I don't think you'll do much walking. What I do is take the monorail from hotel to hotel to get out of the heat. If you are planning on doing that then you should stay at the Excalibur because it's connected to many hotels.

Circus Circus is OK and you are right it is a little farther down but i always like to walk the strip and Excalibur is a little smokee when I stayed but is closer to great hotels. But Excalibur get non smoking since you have more adults and teen are not that into circus too much or at least they act like they aren't have fun

Circus Circus is at the north end of the strip, now that
Westward Ho, the stardust & wet-n-wild have been torn down,
its a bit of a walk to the rest of the casinos & l doubt if
teenangers will find the acts at circus-circus very appealing,
l'm an adult & l found them cheezy at best.
Excalibur is the better of the two, they will have the option
to walk around, the pool the arcade etc.... keep in mind the
new curfew rules for the strip are now in effect-though l don't
know how strictly they are being enforced.

I've not seen the Marriott but I would def. pick circus circus over excalibur, if for nothing else because it's a bit closer to more action than Circus Circus. I've not stayed at any of them. If the IP or Luxor comes up cheap, consider them instead.

Go to Excalibur!! It is superior to Circus Circus.
Circus Circus is filled with little kids and they're horrible. The hotel smells like popcorn and feet. Your teens will not be impressed.
There are tons of things to do for free in Vegas. (Check out the list on the link.)
Expedia.com has good deals on hotels.

Circus Circus is a great place.
Took a friend there the day after Thanksgiving. She used to go when she was a kid with the family. It has changed over the years, but such an enjoyable experience for her.
In addition, alll the kids in the adventure dome were having a great time. Good food and not too expensive.
Today, June 23, my friend at work is having a birthday party for her daughter and friends at the CC .
So you should enjoy it. Very family friendly

Of the two I would choose Excalibur...it seems to have an odor though. Check out the website for the Southpoint http://www.southpointcasino.com/hotel/index.php
It is further south on Las Vegas Blvd. Very nice place though and a short drive of the main strip.

The Excalibur is a nice hotel. I stayed there about 13 yrs ago and it was a fun place. And it is much closer to the other hotels. They have the dinner/show package there, plus a game room for kids.
