I think after the second person had said that, I would ask if it was a compliment. Has she gained a lot of weight? Lost her hair? Had a sex change? Any clue why they would say that? (And it doesn't mean she looks worse--just different.)

I would decide to take it as a compliment and assume that they thought I looked good before and look good now, but in a different way!
