Yes. It's a corrupt system that has never done any good for us. It robs the people of what little money they make and keeps us enslaved to the government.

It's time to repeal the 16th amendment.

Yes and yes.

Eliminate the IRS and you eliminate a lot of expense, you eliminate a tool that is used to coerce people, you eliminate social engineering at the point of a gun.

We cannot eliminate taxes but we can eliminate INCOME tax. Why on earth anyone can believe that taxing good behavior is good is beyond me. If we want to social engineer with the tax laws, lets put in a national sales tax. It would cover the costs of government, everyone would pay the same percent of what they spend and those who waste money on foolishness will pay a higher rate.

It would be a wonderful thing.

It would also most likely cause an immediate riot in DC as the average person who just had to pay $6 in sales tax for a Big Mac would be looking for a congressman to hang. It would be terrific for our country.

Income taxes are good because they can be set up to be progressive where the rich pay a higher percent than the poor. However, the current system has too many loopholes. Keep the IRS but get rid of the loopholes. The alternative is to tax consumption but this stifles economic growth.

Yes, it is the most antiquated system of collecting government revenue ever, it was first used in the U.S. during the Civil War but was soon dropped. We need a fair sales tax based on percentage of sale where by businesses wouldn't be allowed to add the tax to the final total of the sale but have to take it out, granted this will lower income for businesses but they will eventually rise currently levels soon

I think that the idea of taxes makes sense. The way this government is set up though seems to waste the tax payers money.

From what I understand some parts of the government has too much, and other parts too little, and they can't send the extra money from one part, to another part. Go figure, bureaucracy! So, with the extra money they pay for ridiculous research projects ..... that is related to that area of government. Instead of sending it to education, health insurance, roads, sewer systems, public parks, public forests ....... and all those other little things that seems to get forgotten, as our representatives decide if they will give themselves raises, more paid vacations, cars, etc. ......

Getting rid of income taxes will weaken the federal gov't's ability to fund social welfare program, jepordize the existing security net for those who are unemployed and will greatly fracture our dependency on the gov't. Taxes are essential in strengthening our country, not just from a Hamiltonian "federal chariot" view, but also militarily and in the public service sector

actually, yes. We should do away with the IRS, but, we need to pay a fair tax so that the government can operate. But not the way it is now. We should pay a straight 10% tax yearly. Thats it. If the govenrment can't operate within that budget, they need to stop giving themselves pay raises and do away with the un wanted and uneeded wasteful programs they have now.

Fair Tax all the way.

Income taxes punish success. Consumption taxes are voluntary. Liberals like income taxes because they can control us. Letting them go takes their power over us away.

No! We'd be ****** if we didn't pay taxes. Our tax money is used by the government to pay for all sorts of important things that make our country run. It does suck having to pay them, but it wouldn't be a very good idea to just get rid of taxes.

Yes.... under the currant system it is to easy for politicians to manipulate people and companies by giving or taking away tax breaks.
The Fair Tax (national sales tax) is a viable replacement.
