Most two year old children are just starting to form sentences. His mother was probably inside the missing comforter from the bed. If his father had been there he would have said, "Daddy took Mommy out in the rug".

The little boy probably saw what happened to his mom and saw her being rolled into the comforter and the boy wouldn't know the difference from a comforter and a rug. The police or someone would have to ask him "Did your daddy put mommy in the rug?" I don't think he would say anything about the dad unless he was asked specifically. He might be afraid of getting his dad into trouble. I think the father of the little boy killed Jessie Davis. He's got violence in his background. I don't know why the police in Ohio did not do a thorough background check on him. He never was a policeman before. He should be in jail.

he's a little bitty child, just 2 I think. Grandmother thinks he is saying 'rug' because the bed comforter is missing and he called it a 'rug'. We do not know at this time if he said more about his dad, the law keeps those things secret for a while
being very careful with evidence. Those around the little boy have been told not to ask him questions because it puts false ideas in a child's head. But they are to be alert to anything he says voluntarily. I'm sure they have a specialist working with the little boy.

We were told that the little boy said mommy was in the rug, but we don't know if he said anything else that they are not telling us. He may have implicated his father and the police aren't saying until they have more evidence. Or perhaps he didn't name anyone. The police can't ask him directly, and the grandparents were told to let the little boy come out with things on his own, and not to push him for answers. They don't want to pressure him, and they also don't want to influence his thinking by putting ideas into his head about dad or anyone else.

I believe he called the comforter a rug because he couldn't pronounce comforter and it looked like a rug that his Grandmother has. He may have said something about his dad but the police don't want all the info out to the public.

Police have mentioned that there was a quilted comforter missing from the home. Presumably this is the "rug" which the child was talking about, which had her body inside of it. Police also said they found bleach on the floor in the bedroom, which was presumably used to clean up after the fact.

He's only two years old. He may not have a clear idea of what was happening or can't express himself. The person asking the questions may not have been allowed to mention the father's name because it is like steering the boy toward placing him at the scene when he may not have been there. I believe the ex-husband had something to do with her disappearance. I think she has been murdered as well. Hope not though. Sad!

The first answer is probably right. The kid might not know who the guy is who fathered him. He's only 2 and may never have met him.
Its an awful tradegy; one which we continue to see. I will never understand it.
