It should be a DX10 card. If you are more into HD videos than games, you can manage w/ 8500GT ddr3. BUT if you are a gamer, 8600GT would be the minimum and 8800 Ultra the ultimate. The ATI DX10 cards consume more power and are better space heaters.

the best cards are prbly the nvidia 8800 series with dx10 support

The newer the better;
it depends on what your needs are..
try something in the nVidia 8*00 series..

but if you're gaming, you may want to go up to a 8600GT.

if you want the best just take 8800 ultra or 8800 gtx; or you can take radeon 2900xt if you like...

it should be enough to take out new games for a few years.

From AMD it's 2900XT, nVidia it's 8800Ultra.
