the correct answer is:
(t^ 2 -6t + 7) – (5t^2 – 3t -2)
= t^2 6t+7 - 5^2 +3t+2
= -4t^2 - 3t+9

(when open the brackets, take note of the minus sign.) minus&minus give u plus sign.

(t^2-6t+7)-(5t^2-3t-2)
-4t^2-3t+9
ans. simplified is -4t^2-3t+9
When you have two monomials with the same amount of exponents, you add the bases, but keep the exponents the same.

5^2, 5 is the base, and 2 is the exponent(5^2=5*5=25... remember?)

So the answer that you have is wrong.

(t² -6t + 7) - (5t²– 3t -2)

Clear parentheses

t² - 6t + 7 - 5t² + 3t + 2

-4t² - 3t + 9
.
