I have been seeing a counselor through my divorce and he doesn't act gay. But when I see him now ,he does strange things. He will sit there and lip movements that look like fishes
mouth when they move. He keeps taking the ring off his right hand and playing with it so I notice. He made a Fruedian slip and called me honey. Like he was talking to a wife or girlfriend.
The way he sits isn't the same. I'm not interested in him. But are all these signs for something? I would like to hear from a psychotherapists,

He doesn't sound gay to me, but who knows.

It's probably inappropriate for a therapist to call a client, "honey." But even that doesn't mean he's gay. Men will sometimes use that term in a non-sexual way, almost like they are talking to a child. But even then, I don't think a therapist should do something like that. He should be referring to you by your first name or a nickname that you like.

You might be sensitive to how he acts and the like because you just got a divorce from another man and you are subconsciously comparing other men with your ex. Just a thought.

If this guy is helping you, keep him. Otherwise, get a new therapist that you are more comfortable with during this time of your life.

Good luck to you.

My guess is that he just naturally fidgets a lot. He's probably not aware his lips move a lot when he's intent or in thought. I tend to scowl, purse my lips, and wrinkle my forehead in thought. Other people notice it, but I don't. And as far as I know, having a ring on a man's right middle finger only means he likes the ring, it's the right size for that finger and he chose the hand arbitrarily. The honey thing is odd, but Fruedian slips aren't always sexual, they're brain mis-fires, IMO. And it only happened once, so I wouldn't worry about it.
(Not a psychotherapist, though)

A ring on the ring finger on the right hand means a committed relationship. The ring on the ring finger of the left hand means she is married. A large Green Jade Green on the left thumb means she is not a she !

The best way is asking him. I don´t find any sign in those movements. But if they are annoying you the best thing is making him know that. Besides I think is not appropriate for a counselor call honey to his client. I find it weird.
