i have a celeron 2ghz chip and a abit ic7-max3 motherboard and do not have the atx12v power connector on the power supply so would that work?

Yes it will work on that Celeron which draws only about 53 watts. There might be a potential problem if you upgrade to a power hungry Pentium 4 E or EE that draws 103 watts.

You question is incomplete. You say you don't have the atx12c connector,

so what are you asking ? What would work ?
