it was really big it flew down and took the twinkie out of my hand i yelled at it to give it back but it started eating it so i chased it around the parking lot for a while and he flew on to my friends car then my friends dog ended up eatin the twinkie. but the point of the story is the moth was really big

Where I live, each year our campus puts on a "Bug Bowl". They display a ton of cool insects. The moth there was huge. It was like 10 inches in diameter. Today I saw a hummingbird moth. It was pretty big too.

I worked at a warehouse once, and I came across a moth sleeping. I measured it. It was 4" long (top to bottom) and almost about 4" wide, and that was with its wings tucked in!
It was a grayish white color, and had red markings on the topside of the wings. It was interesting, and frankly, a little un-nerving!

I guess something between 8 and 10 inches across, in a public restroom in California somewhere about 20 years ago. Just about made me too nervous to use the bathroom.
