hi, i made a huge mistake and put a male and female together in a tank
the female started chasing the male but nothing serious...or so i thought
the next day, the male's fin was bitten off!! so i separated them and can i possible save the male? i feel so guilty and i don't know what to do with the male, he doesn't eat and doesn't move, but is breathing....help please

The male should live, but it will take him a long time to recover. Keep his water very clean and well aerated and keep offering him food at regular feeding times.

ok.. this sound weird. Usually the male will own the female badly. Keep the male on his own in a nice big tank with lots of plants and hiding places. Hopefully he'll recover.

oh by the way, I saw an article in one fish magazine that showed a damn aggressive betta species(not splendens) that looks just like a female betta. Be careful.

Your male will survive, just be sure to keep its water really clean and dont stress it out.

You should always keep bettas in separate tanks, no matter what sex they are, to prevent one or both from getting badly hurt.

the male & the male can't be together so you must have 2 males & not a male & a female
just keep them apart, get some med. from the pet
store & put it in the water of the hurt fish, good luck
